Power Pass ($349): For Florida Locals Only

The Power Pass is the cheapest option at $349, but its blackout dates make it essentially unusable for peak-season visitors. What's blocked: summer (mid-June through mid-August), spring break (mid-March to mid-April), Thanksgiving week, Christmas/New Year's, and most holiday weekends.

If you live in Florida, go on random weekdays in January, September, or early November, and genuinely won't be tempted to visit during peak season — this pass is excellent. If you're visiting from out of state and want to go in summer, it's useless.

Warning: The #1 annual pass regret we hear is buying a Power Pass for a summer trip. Blackout frustration is very real. Check the UOAP blackout calendar before you buy.

Preferred Pass ($549): The Sweet Spot for Most Visitors

The Preferred Pass is the best value for most out-of-state visitors who plan to come back within 12 months. At $549, you get:

Here's the real math: if you visit twice in a year and use the restaurant/hotel discounts, the pass often pays for itself on the first trip. Two park-to-park 2-day tickets at gate price = ~$330–$380/person. Preferred Pass at $549 + 15% hotel discount on a 2-night Cabana Bay stay ($180/nt × 0.15 = $27 savings/night × 2 = $54) = you're almost at break-even on the first visit and the second visit is free.

Premier Pass ($749): The HHN Value Machine

The Premier Pass is the right choice if and only if you attend Halloween Horror Nights. HHN single-night tickets run $87–$140 at gate price (more on peak October nights). The Premier Pass includes HHN admission as part of the pass — not discounted admission, but included admission.

If you attend HHN just twice: 2 HHN tickets at $100–$120 average = $200–$240. Preferred Pass ($549) + 2 HHN tickets ($220) = $769. Premier Pass ($749) vs. $769. You're already ahead — and your third HHN night is pure savings.

Additional Premier perks over Preferred: 15% off dining (vs. 10%), 15% off merchandise (vs. 10%), and some additional resort benefits.

You go to HHN yourself — is the included HHN access actually worth the $200 Premier vs. Preferred price gap? How many nights do you typically go? What's your personal HHN routine, and when does the Premier math tip in its favor for someone who's on the fence?

3-Park Annual Pass ($1,099): Epic Universe or Bust

The 3-Park Annual Pass adds Epic Universe access to the IOA + USF coverage of all other passes. At $1,099, it only makes sense if Epic Universe is open and you're planning to visit it in your pass window.

Important: Confirm Epic Universe's current opening status before buying this pass. The park is expected to open in 2025 — but verify at universalorlando.com before committing $1,099.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Universal Orlando annual pass worth it?

For 2+ visits in 12 months, yes — especially Preferred Pass at $549 for out-of-state visitors. For a single trip, the math usually doesn't work unless you're going to HHN 2+ times with a Premier Pass.

What's the difference between Power and Preferred Pass?

Power Pass ($349) blocks peak season dates. Preferred Pass ($549) adds broader access, 10% dining/merch discounts, and 15% hotel discounts. For anyone not local to Florida, Preferred is almost always worth the extra $200.

Does an annual pass include Halloween Horror Nights?

Only Premier Pass ($749) includes HHN admission. Power and Preferred get discounted HHN tickets. If you're going to HHN twice, Premier vs. Preferred + 2 HHN tickets is often a wash or slightly in Premier's favor.

How much is a Universal Orlando annual pass in 2026?

Power Pass $349, Preferred $549, Premier $749, 3-Park $1,099. Monthly payment plans are available for all tiers with a small interest-free or financed option.
