The catch? Most Sail & Save deals expire by Sunday. Miss the window, and the rate is gone โ usually for good. Here's everything you need to know to move fast and book smart.
What Sail & Save actually is
Sail & Save is Virgin Voyages' weekly flash sale. Every Wednesday at noon ET, VV releases reduced rates on a curated selection of upcoming sailings โ typically departures within the next 60โ90 days. Discounts generally range from 20โ40% off the standard fare, and the deals are available on a first-come, first-served basis until they sell out or expire at the end of the week.
Which cabin types qualify
The lowest-priced non-refundable fare. Sail & Save routinely hits this cabin category hardest โ expect the biggest dollar savings here.
VV's most popular cabin โ a private balcony, full sea view, and the sweet spot of price vs. experience. Sail & Save regularly includes Sea Terrace deals.
Interior, Sea View, and Suite categories are not typically included in Sail & Save. Only Lock It In Insider and Sea Terrace qualify in most weeks.
Mega RockStar and RockStar suites are priced separately and don't appear in Sail & Save promotions.
What stacks with Sail & Save
When VV runs both promos simultaneously (which happens most weeks), you can book a Sail & Save rate AND get 80% off the second sailor's fare. This is the power combo โ two sailors paying a reduced base rate, with the second one paying almost nothing.
Select Sail & Save sailings include complimentary drinks credits ($50โ$300 depending on voyage length). These are applied automatically at booking โ no code needed.
Sail & Save fares still come with everything Always Included: specialty dining at 20+ restaurants, group fitness, entertainment, and Wi-Fi. You're not giving up amenities to get the lower price.
What does NOT stack with Sail & Save
- โBar Tab: The pre-purchased Bar Tab add-on cannot be used with Sail & Save fares. If you want an alcohol package, you'll need to budget for drinks separately.
- โCasino Rates: Casino player discounts are a separate pricing track and cannot be combined with Sail & Save.
- โMNVV (Make It Next Voyage Voucher): The onboard credit voucher issued after your previous sailing cannot be applied to Sail & Save bookings.
- โInterline/Travel Agent Rates: Industry rates are a completely separate fare bucket and don't combine with consumer promotions.
How to book before the window closes
๐ฌ The honest take
Sail & Save is genuinely one of the best ways to book a Virgin Voyage at a sharp price โ but only if you're flexible on timing. These are near-term sailings, so you need to be ready to commit quickly. If you have a specific date or destination locked in, Sail & Save may not always have what you need. But if you can go anytime in the next 2โ3 months? Check every Wednesday. The deals are real.
