Virgin's core inclusions apply across its current fare choices, but not every benefit is identical. Wi-Fi speed and device allowances vary by fare, and some higher fares or suites add Bar Tab, service and other benefits.
Use Fruglar's VoyageFair Choices true-cost calculator to compare the live fare difference with the benefits you would actually use.
Core inclusions in every current fare
Every restaurant on the ship, including specialty venues, has no cover charge. The Wake, Extra Virgin, Razzle Dazzle, Gunbae, Pink Agave β all included. No per-night fees, no tasting menu surcharges.
Every group fitness class β yoga, HIIT, cycling, barre β is included. Traditional cruise lines charge $15β$30 per class. On VV, it's all in.
Every fare includes a Wi-Fi plan, but they are not identical. Lock It In and Base include Basic Wi-Fi for 1 device per Sailor; Essential and RockStar include Classic Wi-Fi for 1 device; Premium includes Premium Wi-Fi for 2 devices; Mega RockStar includes Work From Sea Wi-Fi for 2 devices per Sailor.
All shows, performances, and events are included. From intimate live music to full theatrical productions, there's no reserved seating tier and no ticket to purchase.
Every sailing is adults-only (18+). No water slide queues, no kids in the hot tubs, no activity clash between family programming and adult entertainment. Included by design.
No formal nights, no "smart casual" enforcement. Come as you are. This isn't an amenity you pay for β it's a philosophy baked into the experience.
What's NOT included β the honest list
-
β
Alcohol & Bar Tab: VV doesn't include an alcohol package. Drinks are priced individually at the bar. If you drink heavily, this adds up quickly. The Bar Tab package (pre-purchased drink credits) is available as an add-on but isn't included in the base fare.
-
β
Service gratuities: Budget $20 per Sailor per night when prepaid before sailing, or $22 per Sailor per night when added onboard. For two Sailors on a 7-night voyage, that is $280 prepaid or $308 onboard.
-
β
Shore Excursions: Shore excursions and port activities are not included. VV sells them through their Sailor app, but you can also book independently β which is often cheaper.
-
β
Spa Treatments: The Redemption Spa offers treatments at a premium. Access to the thermal suite and sauna areas is also a paid add-on. Some cabins (RockStar suites) include spa access; standard fares do not.
-
β
Specialty Personal Training: Group fitness is included; private training sessions with a coach are not and are booked at an additional charge.

π¬ The honest take
When you do the full math, Virgin's included dining, Wi-Fi plan and group fitness can offset costs that other cruise lines charge separately. It is not automatically cheaper: add service gratuities, drinks, excursions and any fare upgrade before comparing. The true-cost fare calculator keeps those inputs in one comparison.
