Virgin Voyages' 11-night Arctic Circle & Norwegian Fjords cruise sails round-trip from Amsterdam on Valiant Lady from August 14 to 25, 2028. As of August 18, cabins start at $3,102 per Sailor, or $6,204 for two, including taxes and fees; Sea Terrace fares start at $3,619 per Sailor.
Virgin's Europe sale adds $250 in onboard credit to eligible Sea Terrace bookings or $500 to eligible RockStar bookings on this departure through August 19, alongside the free balcony upgrade and 70% off the second Sailor. Lock It In and reduced-rate cabins are excluded from the onboard-credit offer.
The launch contains six sailings calling at 22 ports, including 15 ports Virgin has never visited before. The collection stretches from Western Europe to the Baltic and deep into Norway, with overnight stays, late departures, open-jaw routes and a rare Arctic Circle itinerary designed around the midnight sun.
For travelers accustomed to seeing Virgin in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Alaska, this is more than a routine deployment update. It puts Virgin into one of cruising's most scenic and expensive regions while preserving the line's adults-only atmosphere, included dining and distinctly social onboard style. The live numbers also make the tradeoffs clearer: the seven-night Hamburg sailing is the price leader, while the Arctic and Stockholm voyages command the largest premiums.

The Europe Sale
Eligible Europe voyages can receive up to $500 in onboard credit, a free balcony upgrade and 70% off the second Sailor. The exact onboard-credit amount and eligibility must be confirmed with the final quote.
Free balcony upgrade + 70% off
Virgin's wider summer offer advertises a free balcony upgrade and 70% off the second Sailor on qualifying bookings. Eligible voyages booked 12 or more months ahead may also have 0% APR Flex Pay options, subject to financing terms.
Compare all six Northern Europe sailings
Every sailing is aboard Valiant Lady in 2028, but the experience changes dramatically: two open-jaw Western Europe crossings and four Amsterdam round trips, including the 11-night Arctic Circle centerpiece.
Arctic Circle and midnight sun
The season's milestone sailing heads above the Arctic Circle for an adults-only journey through Norway during the long light of summer.
Stockholm at golden hour
Virgin plans an overnight call in Stockholm, arriving around golden hour and including a second morning in the Swedish capital.
More usable time ashore
Virgin's advisor launch preview lists Copenhagen stays until 10 or 11 p.m. and Hamburg until 11:59 p.m.; confirm the final times in the live itinerary.
Fly one way, sail the other
Different embarkation and disembarkation cities make it possible to cover more of Europe without retracing the same route.
The Barcelona-to-Amsterdam crossing includes a Lisbon overnight. Virgin's public pages conflict on the southbound Lisbon timing, so Fruglar is treating that detail as unconfirmed. The other four itineraries sit within Virgin's longer, destination-heavy Marvelous Voyages collection.
| Voyage | Dates | Length and route |
|---|---|---|
| Western Europe: Barcelona to Amsterdam | July 9–19 | 10-night open jaw, including Casablanca and an overnight in Lisbon |

Why the Arctic Circle sailing is the one to watch
The 11-night Arctic Circle itinerary is the clear centerpiece. This is not a warm-weather cruise with a different port list; it is the kind of voyage travelers plan around a milestone birthday, retirement, anniversary or long-delayed bucket-list trip.
Valiant Lady sails round-trip from Amsterdam on August 14, 2028, visiting Bergen, Tromsø, Honningsvåg, Trondheim, Åndalsnes and Olden. The ship crosses the Arctic Circle twice and reaches 71°N, with an Arctic Circle Crossing Ceremony and a midnight-sun deck party planned onboard.
Honningsvåg provides access to North Cape, while the mix of fjord ports and long scenic passages gives the itinerary a very different rhythm from Virgin's Mediterranean and Caribbean routes.
Inventory is already moving. Sea Terrace and Mega RockStar had shown unavailable on August 13, but both category groups were visible again when Fruglar rechecked on August 18. Travelers who want this sailing should have a preferred cabin and a realistic backup ready because courtesy holds and released reservations can change what appears.
Virgin Voyages' $24,999 Scandinavia & Baltics Summer Season Pass
Virgin now lists the 2028 Scandinavia & Baltics Summer Season Pass at $24,999 in a Central Sea Terrace, with Premium Fare and service gratuities included. It combines all four Amsterdam-based Northern Europe voyages back-to-back on Valiant Lady from July 19 through August 25, 2028.
The 37-night sequence includes Scandinavia & Stockholm Overnight, Norwegian Fjords, Scandinavia & Hamburg, and Arctic Circle & Norwegian Fjords. It is one fixed extended package, not an annual pass that lets the buyer choose any four departures.
Virgin also lists a $15-per-Sailor, per-night drink credit; a 60-day dining-reservation window; Work From Sea Wi-Fi; priority boarding; one wash-and-fold laundry service per voyage; and one sea-day thermal-suite pass per voyage for each Sailor.
| Included with the Season Pass | Published detail |
|---|---|
| Package price | $24,999 |
| Cabin and fare | Central Sea Terrace, Premium Fare and service gratuities included |
| Sailing dates | Four consecutive voyages, July 19–August 25, totaling 37 nights |
| Shore Things | One complimentary Shore Thing per voyage, up to $250 per Sailor; eight total, up to $2,000 |
| Arctic Circle experience | Private champagne breakfast, VIP viewing area and one discovery activation |
| Welcome package | Season Pass jacket, destination guide, backpack, water bottle, power bank, snack kit and limited-edition collectible |
Important: The published Season Pass page does not settle every deposit, cancellation, solo-occupancy or promotion-combinability question. Confirm the final reservation terms before paying. The launch promotion described elsewhere in this guide applies to qualifying individual voyages and should not be assumed to reduce the $24,999 Season Pass.

-
1
Choose the experience first
Decide whether the priority is the Arctic Circle, a Stockholm overnight, the Baltic capitals, or an open-jaw Western Europe crossing.
-
2
Know the preferred cabin
For Norway, a Sea Terrace has obvious scenic value. The category is visible again from $3,619 per Sailor, but specific cabins can disappear or return as courtesy holds change. Have a backup ready and ask Fruglar to watch for released inventory.
-
3
Locate any MNVV
Confirm the placeholder's owner and expiration so eligibility can be checked against the launch terms rather than assumed.
-
4
Plan for open-jaw airfare
Different beginning and ending ports can produce a better trip, but the airfare should be compared before the cabin deposit becomes the easy part.
Public booking is open, and the Europe onboard-credit offer ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on August 19. The Arctic departure is eligible for $250 in Sea Terrace Sailor Loot or $500 in RockStar Sailor Loot on qualifying fares, plus the advertised free balcony upgrade and 70% off the second Sailor. Virgin's wider balcony-upgrade and second-Sailor offer runs through August 31. Lock It In and reduced-rate cabins are excluded from the onboard-credit offer; every benefit remains subject to the final booking terms.

Source check
Virgin Voyages published the complete Northern Europe announcement and destination page on July 28, 2026. Fruglar checked the full Northern Europe launch table, schedules and the official $24,999 Season Pass on August 13, then rechecked the Arctic sailing's live USD fare, two-Sailor total, cabin categories, taxes-and-fees treatment, availability and Europe sale terms on August 18. Deposit, cancellation, solo-occupancy and promotion-combinability details should still be confirmed before purchase.
Schedule note: Virgin's destination page and launch FAQ indicate Lisbon on consecutive days for the Amsterdam-to-Barcelona crossing, while another paragraph in the announcement describes an 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. call. Fruglar is treating that southbound timing as unconfirmed until Virgin publishes a live booking itinerary or correction.
Need help finding a cabin?
A sailing or category showing unavailable is not always the final word. Courtesy holds can expire and guests can release inventory. Tell Fruglar your preferred cabin, number of Sailors and whether you have an MNVV; we can check the live options and help watch for space that returns.
