What Universal announced
Universal says NBC Sports Grill & Brew will celebrate the start of the 2026-27 NBA season from 5-9 p.m. on October 20. The announced entertainment includes a live DJ and referee-themed stilt walkers, with Universal describing additional activities without publishing a complete schedule.
This is a short-notice, one-evening CityWalk event. Travelers who want the entertainment should plan around the published four-hour window instead of assuming it will continue later in the week.
The three NBA-season menu items
Universal announced three dishes for the season: the hand-battered and fried Onion Hoop; the Slam Dunk Chicken Bacon Ranch Sammie on a pretzel hoagie with grilled chicken, bacon, vegetables, jalapeño queso and provolone; and the PB & Jammm cake doughnut with serrano-strawberry jam, peanut butter ice cream, peanut brittle, powdered sugar and lemon zest.
The official post says the dishes are available through the NBA season, but it does not provide an exact final service date or prices. That makes the menu useful for planning a later CityWalk stop, not a guaranteed inventory promise for every game day.
How to plan the CityWalk stop
Universal's announcement does not say that the entertainment requires a separate ticket or dining reservation. It also does not label seating, capacity or viewing areas, so guests should avoid treating restaurant access or a table as guaranteed.
If anyone in the group is under 18, remember Universal's current CityWalk policy: after 8 p.m., unaccompanied minors without qualifying admission, a hotel stay, restaurant reservation or another listed exception are required to leave. A parent or guardian age 21 or older may accompany no more than five guests under 18 and must carry qualifying photo identification.
