What changed
Universal Kids Resort has added a Gold Annual Pass above its existing Silver options. Universal's official pass page lists Gold at $199.99 and says it will go on sale to all guests September 29, 2026.
Current Silver Passholders have an early upgrade window. Universal says they can apply the value of their Silver Pass toward the upgrade, but the website currently directs them to call rather than offering a public online Gold purchase button. Universal has not published a universal upgrade balance or proration formula, so ask for the exact amount due before upgrading.
Gold Pass benefits
The Gold Pass includes 12 months of general admission from first use, regular self-parking and no Passholder blockout dates. The pass page also lists these benefits:
- 10% off eligible food, nonalcoholic beverages and merchandise at select park and hotel locations.
- 10% off eligible one-day and two-day Friends & Family tickets, purchased in person at Guest Services, with a six-ticket limit per visit date.
- 10% off one eligible Private VIP Experience and add-on guest tickets through December 31, 2027; separate admission is required.
- A complimentary room upgrade for a previously booked Universal Kids Resort Hotel stay, requested at check-in and subject to availability.
- $20 off Premium Parking, subject to availability and limited to one purchase per visit date.
For comparison, Universal currently lists the Silver Annual Pass with Parking at $164.99. That makes the displayed Gold premium $35 before considering any tax treatment Universal may apply. Gold adds the in-park discounts, Friends & Family ticket discount, VIP discount, possible hotel upgrade, Premium Parking discount and removal of Silver Passholder blockout dates.
No blockouts does not mean every date is open
Gold has no Passholder blockout dates, but Universal Kids Resort operates seasonally. The official calendar currently lists park-wide closure dates that apply to all passes:
- November 2026: 3–4, 10–11, 17–18 and 26.
- December 2026: 25.
- January 2027: 5–8, 11–15 and 19–31.
- February 2027: 1–10, 16–19 and 22–26.
- March 2027: 1–2 and 8–9.
Universal says those closure dates can change and may be added or removed. Check the live pass page before booking travel around a date near one of those windows.
Who should consider Gold
Gold is easiest to justify for a family that will revisit, needs included parking and expects to spend enough on eligible food, merchandise or Friends & Family tickets to recover the $35 displayed premium over Silver with Parking. The no-blockout feature is useful only if the park itself is scheduled to operate on your date.

Fine print and verification
Admission is for one guest age 2 or older and runs for 12 months from the first scan for park admission or parking. An unactivated pass expires if it is not activated within 12 months of purchase. Gold benefits require a valid pass and photo ID, include product and location exclusions, and can change without notice. Hotel upgrades, VIP inventory and Premium Parking are not guaranteed.
The annual-pass page currently displays Gold at $199.99 but does not state whether that displayed amount includes tax. Universal's current terms and the final checkout or phone quote control.
